To eliminate those limitations, Pierre Fournier and Yves-Gerard Illouz, two French doctors, altered the technique in 1978. Throughout the 1980s, the efforts to enhance the technique as well as make it less painful and risky continued finally leading to the introduction of Tumescent liposuction by Dr Klein.

Further innovations led to the introduction of fat liquefaction and improved anaesthesia. These new breakthroughs have made liposuction a more comfortable as well as convenient procedure that causes minimum pain and depicts better results.
