Dr. Mandana joined Fortis as a full time consultant in cardiothoracic and vascular surgery. He has performed many critical and complex cardiothoracic and vascular surgeries throughout his career. Dr. Mandana & his team performed the first successful heart transplant surgery in eastern India on 21 May 2018, this operation was done at Fortis Anandapur, Kolkata and subsequently six such surgeries have been performed for ill heart failure patients. He completed his MS in General Surgery from S.N. Medical College, Rajasthan University & did his MCh (Cardiovascular & Thoracic Surgery) from Kasturaba Medical College & Hospital, Manipal. After that he completed fellowship of European Board of Cardiothoracic Surgeons from University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff, United Kingdom (2000). He is now a full-time director of cardiac surgery at Fortis Hospital, Anandapur, Kolkata.

DSN Medical College, Rajasthan University. • Dr Mandana has been associated with research activities with IIT Kharagpur and a visiting faculty from 2008 in the school of medical science and technology at IIT Kharagpur • At present he has a research collaboration with TCS and IIT for cardiology research and early coronary artery disease detection in younger patients or population. • With TCS, IIT and Fortis collaboration, Dr. Mandana has contributed over 30 papers in International Indexed Journals and chapters in various book. • He has been an adjunct professor at IIEST Kolkata since 2016 and has been appointed as Research Advisor (East India) for TCS since June 2016.
