Family of accident victim from Indirapuram donates her organs, saving the lives of four critical patients
Displaying tremendous strength and large-heartedness in their hour of grief, the family of an accident victim from Indirapuram, Ghaziabad, today donated her organs which saved the lives of four critical patients at different hospitals in the Delhi-NCR region. The patient’s heart was sent to Max Hospital, Saket and a green corridor was created between Noida and Saket for this purpose with the support of Noida and Delhi Traffic Police. The distance of 28 kms was covered in just 21 minutes. One of the patient’s kidneys and the liver was retained by Fortis Hospital, Noida. The second kidney was sent to Fortis Hospital, Shalimar Bagh.
At Forts Hospital Noida, the team which retrieved the kidneys as well as the liver and also conducted the transplant surgeries were - Dr Dushyant Nadar, Director, Dept of Kidney Transplant Programme; Dr Rahul Gupta, Senior Consultant, Dr Piyush Varshney, Senior Consultant, dept. of Kidney Transplant and Dr Vivek Vij, Director, Dept. of Liver Transplant Programme respectively.
