Fortis carries out cleanliness drive in Phase VII Market

Fortis Hospital, Mohali launched a cleanliness drive by organizing a Swachh Fortis Abhiyan in Phase VII market today. The nursing students did a street play where the importance of hygiene was highlighted for better health. The practice of hand hygiene was particularly underlined. The traders’ community took part in this drive by Fortis Hospital, Mohali which was recently awarded the Asia Pacific Hand Hygiene Excellence Award. The event was led by Mr Jelson Kavalakkat, Head of Administration, Fortis Hospital, Mohali along with the enthusiastic support from doctors, nurses and hospital staff.

Fortis Mohali maintains one rotary in Chandigarh, along with the green belt adjoining to the hospital, as part of its CSR programme. The hospital's effort was recently recognized during the recent Rose Festival, with the roundabout in Sector 4-Chandigarh, winning prize in the Best Roundabout Category.

Speaking at the event, Dr GBS Kang, Medical Superintendent, Fortis Hospital, Mohali said, “While we ensure best practices and hygiene inside the hospital, it is important to spread the word in our periphery. Our efforts to maintain world-class hygiene standards have recently been recognized during the Asia Pacific Society of Infection Control (APSIC) Conference where we won the Asia Pacific Hand Hygiene Award, 2015 for demonstrating outstanding leadership in implementation of an effective hand hygiene campaign.”

Fortis Mohali carries out cleanliness drives every month in the hospital periphery in an effort to sustain good cleanliness and hygiene practices among people, to take forward the goal of ‘good health.'
