Faridabad, 22nd November 2024: In a bid to curb the effects of the rising air pollution, Fortis Escorts Hospital Faridabad on Friday conducted a mask distribution drive at DCP Traffic Police Headquarters in Faridabad, Sector 12 where around 1000 - N-95 masks were distributed amongst the traffic police personnel. Present at the occasion were Jasleen Kaur, DCP - Traffic Police Faridabad alongwith Dr. Ravi Shekar Jha, Director & Unit Head, Pulmonology, Fortis Escorts Hospital Faridabad, Yogendra Nath Awadhiya, Facility Director, Fortis Escorts Hospital Faridabad.

Speaking about the mask distribution drive, Dr. Ravi Shekar Jha, Director & Unit Head, Pulmonology, Fortis Escorts Hospital Faridabad said, “Traffic police are most vulnerable to air pollution, as they remain stationed outside for most part of the day. This makes them especially exposed to particulate matter PM2.5, which directly enters the bloodstream, causing various ailments. To keep illnesses at bay, it is recommended to step-out wearing an anti-pollution mask, preferably an N-95, to protect yourself against harmful pollutants.”

Jasleen Kaur, DCP Traffic, Faridabad said, “The Traffic police officers inhale the toxic haze, risking their health for their livelihoods. Many suffer from respiratory ailments, burning eyes, and other health issues, yet continue to toil, often without adequate protection. This initiative by Fortis Escorts Faridabad to distribute N-95 masks to the traffic police is applauding.
