Fortis Hospital & Kidney Institute in Kolkata Celebrates World Kidney Day with "Sahayak" Event 

  Kolkata, March 2024: Fortis Hospital & Kidney Institute (FHKI) at Rashbehari, Kolkata, celebrated World Kidney Day by hosting an informative and engaging event titled “Sahayak”. Led by Dr. Arup Ratan Dutta, Director Nephrology, FHKI, and Dr. Upal Sengupta, Senior Consultant Nephrology, the event aimed to raise awareness about kidney health and the importance of preventive measures, especially focusing on dialysis. 

  The celebration began with a symbolic cake cutting ceremony, uniting participants in the battle against kidney diseases. Following the ceremony, Dr. Dutta and Dr. Sengupta engaged with attendees, sharing crucial information on factors that affect kidney health and common kidney diseases, while emphasizing the significance of early detection and timely intervention. They also discussed various aspects of kidney care which involves maintaining a healthy lifestyle by consuming a balanced diet, drinking adequate water, engaging in regular physical activities, and regular health checkups. 

  Alongside "Sahayak", FHKI hosted a complimentary health checkup camp, offering tests for blood sugar, blood pressure, and uric acid levels. This initiative aimed to encourage individuals to prioritize their health and well-being by facilitating easy access to essential screenings. The health camp, open to all, reflected FHKI's commitment to community health and wellness, allowing participants to seek advice from healthcare professionals and gain tailored health maintenance advice. 

  Dr. Arup Ratan Dutta expressed his gratitude to all participants and emphasized the importance of collective efforts in combating kidney diseases. He stated, “On the occasion of World Kidney Day, events like ‘Sahayak’ serve as platforms for spreading awareness and fostering proactive approaches towards kidney health.
