Fortis Hospital Ludhiana Illuminates Iconic Clock Tower (Tourist Information Centre, Punjab Tourism) to commemorate Breast Cancer Awareness Month; Honoring Survivors and Promoting Early Detection
Ludhiana, October 2024: Fortis Hospital Ludhiana commemorated Breast Cancer Awareness Month by illuminating the City's Iconic Clock Tower (Ghanta Ghar) in Pink, representing the importance of Regular Screening and Early detection in Breast Cancers. Mr. Jasdev Singh Sekhon (Zonal Commissioner, Ludhiana), Dr. Vishavdeep Goyal (Zonal Head, Fortis Amritsar and Ludhiana) Dr Gurdarshan Singh Mangat (Unit Head, Fortis Hospital, Mall Road Ludhiana) along with the Oncology Team of Doctors from Fortis Hospital Ludhiana, including Dr. Harish Matta, Director of General & Onco Surgery; Dr. Davinder Paul, Senior Consultant in Medical Oncology; Dr. Anish Bhatia, Consultant in Surgical Oncology; Dr. Praveen Kaur, Additional Director of Radiation Oncology, Dr. Ravinder Singh Sidhu, Senior Consultant in Nuclear Medicine and Mr. Jaspreet Singh & Mr Gurpreet Singh, President of Fit Club & Peddler Group Ludhiana graced the occasion.
Fortis Ludhiana also hosted a Breast Cancer Survivors' Meet, honouring the resilience of those who have overcome breast cancer and emphasizing the importance of early detection. Breast cancer, a disease earlier associated with older age groups, has surged enormously in women aged below 50 years in the last three decades and is the most prevalent cancer affecting women in India. More than 50 breast cancer survivors participated in the survivor meet, which featured a series of activities, including games and educational sessions.
