Fortis Ludhiana organizes Health Talks to commemorate International Women’s Day, 8th March 2024 

  Ludhiana, March 2024: To celebrate International Women's Day, Fortis Hospital Ludhiana hosted a series of health talks in the first week of March. The objective was to promote women's empowerment and general well-being and also raise awareness of common health issues that mostly affect women and ways to prevent them. The talks covered many aspects of women's health which included self-care, mental health, nutrition, and common gynecological issues, such as PCOS and PCOD. 

  This International Women’s Day, Fortis Hospital Chandigarh Road and Mall Road, Ludhiana, esteemed specialists, Dr Gursimran Kaur - Senior Consultant Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Dr Arti Tuli - Senior Consultant Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Dr Shivani Garg - Associate Consultant Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Dr Priya - Associate Consultant Obstetrics & Gynaecologist, Dr Khyati Singla Dermatologist, Dr Jasmine Heer, Consultant Psychiatry, Dietician Puneet Kaur, Dr Manav Wadhera, Clinical Cardiologist, Ms Gauri - Dietician celebrated international women's day by conducting a series of health talks across various institutions and corporates in Ludhiana & periphery. 

  According to the latest NIH data, (National Institutes of Health), [1]92% of women had one or more gynaecological or sexual health disorders diagnosed, with an average of 3.6 conditions per woman, according to the study. Notably, half of the cases relate to infections of the genitalia. A key matter of concern is that just 8 percent of the women had previously received gynaecological exams and treatments. 

  Dr. Vishavdeep Goyal, SBU Head, Fortis Ludhaina and Amritsar, said, In India, women are the primary caretakers of their family's health, deciding on the diet and lifestyle. Hence, prioritizing their health and well-being is crucial. The aim of these talks was to address common health issues that women experience, offer insightful information about preventive measures, and promote routine health check-ups through these discussions. We hope the discussions by our experts, empower women to make informed health decisions, leading to healthier and happier lives. It was also a rewarding experience for our doctors to engage with women from various backgrounds and support their overall health.”
