On World Liver Day, Fortis Hospitals Ludhiana organizes health talk to raise awareness on Fatty Liver

Ludhiana, April 2024: On World Liver Day, April 19, 2024, Fortis Hospitals Ludhiana hosted several health talks across the city. Emphasizing the theme of World Liver Day this year: ‘Keep Your Liver Healthy and Disease Free’, top clinicians from both Fortis Hospitals Ludhiana stressed on the significance of routine check-ups, explained the causes of fatty liver and non-alcoholic fatty liver, along with preventive measures. Additionally, they conducted an educational session on Continuing Medical Education (CME) to enable medical professionals to sustain competency and stay abreast of emerging trends in their field. 

 Senior Gastroenterologists from both Fortis Hospitals, Chandigarh Road, and Mall Road highlighted the significance of liver health. Dr. Nitin Shankar Behl, Additional Director of Gastroenterology, along with Dr. Rajoo Singh Chinna, Gastroenterology Director, and Dr. Amit Bansal, Gastroenterology Consultant, led educational Continuing Medical Education (CME) sessions for the Medical Practitioners Association in Ludhiana and Shimlapuri Block, held at Fortis Hospitals Ludhiana, focusing on non-alcoholic fatty liver. Additionally, Dr. Neeraj Singla, a Gastroenterology Consultant, and Dr. Amit Bansal, a Gastroenterology Consultant hosted a health talk on the same at Fortis Ludhiana. 

 Dr Vishavdeep Goyal, SBU Head, Fortis Ludhiana, and Amritsar, said, “To observe World Liver Day, it is critical to recognize the role that the liver plays in the overall health of the individual The liver is essential for digestion, metabolism, and detoxification. Post-covid our bodies have become more vulnerable to diseases. To protect our liver health, we must place a high priority on preventive health screening regularly along with good lifestyle choices,
