It is important to make a few lifestyle changes to improve your overall wellbeing.
As Buddha quoted, "To keep the body in good health is a duty….otherwise we shall not be able to keep our mind strong and clear." It is very important for each one of us to preserve our health. Here's a list of healthy tips that will help you to stay fit and improve your overall wellbeing and lead a balanced life.
Eat healthy: The food that we eat has a huge impact on our health. A nutritious, balanced diet is essential for maintaining a healthy body and mind.
Stop smoking: Kicking the butt will give a very positive effect on your health, at any age. Your circulation, skin, hair and teeth, everything improves and your risk of serious disease is minimised. And you save a lot of money, too.
Cut out fat: Dairy products such as cheese, milk and cream should be eaten in low fat versions. Butter should be kept to a minimum, if possible. And try to avoid fried or fast food.
Get active: Exercise improves your health and general wellbeing, and prevents problems such as high blood pressure, depression and joint problems. It's recommended to do 30 minutes of cardio exercise three times a week.
Stay hydrated: Drinking enough fluids helps flush away toxins from your body and keeps you hydrated.
Be brain active: Mental health is as important as physical health. There are many ways to keep your brain active.
Keep a positive outlook: It has been scientifically proven that a person with a positive outlook on life will be healthier than someone who doesn't. Do something every day that you enjoy.
Have regular health checkups: Visits to the doctor become more and more important as you get older.
Visit your doctor if you are unwell: This may sound obvious, but there are lots of people who are reluctant to visit the doctor and often hope that symptoms will just 'go away'. But if you are feeling unwell, visit one today.
