In this video, Dr Atul Limaye a consultant of interventional cardiology at Fortis Hospital, Mulund, talks to us about the heart attack problems in amateurs and the common reason for the same. Nowadays heart attack in young people has become very common, even a person who is very fit and exercises regularly might also suffer from a heart attack, and there is not any particular reason which has been found yet but there is an assumption of genetic predisposition. If a family has suffered from heart attack heart disease in the older generation then it can affect the new generation also. A person cannot do anything about this but can cure themselves by adopting a healthy lifestyle so that their health is in control and the chances of heart attack are reduced. To prevent this disease one can improve their lifestyle by eating healthy and including elements like fibre, protein, vitamins, etc, in their diet. Regular checkups like blood pressure, diabetes, and cholesterol are important. Another big factor contributing to a heart attack in young people is stress, which is why it is important to keep stress and other problems like anxiety under check and stay mentally healthy as well. Other than this, the doctor suggests avoiding smoking, drinking alcohol, or any other kind of drug as it could also be one of the reasons for heart attack in youth.
