SAFETY TIPS FOR THE RACE DAY!
- Get adequate sleep the night before the race.
- Take dinner that is rich in carbohydrates the night before the race and avoid overeating.
- Before arriving for the race, take a light snack and reach before the start time to avoid last-minute anxiety and chaos.
- Run at your own pace without getting influenced by others around you.
- It is essential to warm up before the race.
- Take 5 mins to cool down. Don't stop suddenly at the end of the race.
- Consume water or other rehydration fluids at regular intervals.
- Know your sweat rate and consume fluid in proportion to it. If you don't know your sweat rate, it is ideal to drink at least 200-250 ml of fluid (available at the water station), every 20 minutes.
- Don't experiment with anything new, be it your running pattern, goals, shoes, clothes, food, or energy drinks on race day.
- Remember to write down your emergency contact number for any mishappenings.
