Suffering from body aches & impaired memory?

Fortis Memorial Research Institute, Gurgaon May 09, 2017

The enigma called chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS), more recently referred to as myalgic encephalomyelitis (ME), is described clinically as persistence of tiredness with body aches and lack of energy despite adequate rest in the absence of physical stress lasting for more than six months’ duration.

The condition is characterised by inadequate response to simple analgesics and has other clinical accompaniments as well. The incidence of the ailment seems to be on the rise with the pace and stresses of life compounded by a lifestyle devoid of adequate physical activity.

Symptoms of CFS include body aches, joint pains and weakness, mild sore throat with enlarged lymph glands around the neck, mild sore throat off and on, impaired memory and concentration with headaches, indigestion, bloating and irritable bowel-like complaints which may be accompanied sometimes with behaviour changes like sleep disorder, depression or anxiety.
