He did his MS (Surgery) from PGIMS, Rohtak and completed his MCh in surgical oncology from the reputed Kidwai Memorial Institute of Oncology, Bangalore, one of the premier cancer care centers in the country. He was awarded an ESSO fellow by the Surgical Oncology Division of the European Board of Surgery.
