What is Single Incision Laparoscopic Surgery (SILS)

It is an advanced minimally invasive approach where a surgeon mostly operates through only incision of around 20mm as opposed to multiple cuts (3-4) of ½ - 1 cm
A specially designed port is created through which a telescope (attached to a camera) is inserted along with other laparoscopic instruments
Surgeons can observe magnified versions of internal organs on a television screen
Usually the incision is made below the navel
